Norwegian is the official language of the country. Sami languages (the language of the original inhabitants of northern Scandinavia) are recognized, they include Northern Sami, Luke Sami, Kven and Southern Sami. English is widely spoken, and Swedish and Danish are also spoken.
Religion
Almost 80% of the population of Norway belongs to the Church of Norway (an Evangelical-Lutheran denomination). Approximately 4% identify as Christian while Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and Jewish minorities also exist in the country.
